Time to work on your Vision Board for 2019

Apologies for bringing this up as I can imagine some of you cringing when you see the title up top. I know many people are skeptical about the whole “Vision Board” concept and whether or not it even means anything, but I am telling you here and now, that it worked for me multiple times in my life. Hence I wanted to revisit the subject and ask you to give it a chance – or a second chance.

Putting together a Vision Board is a fun and creative way for you to become clear on your dreams and desires and transform them into reality. It is a visual representation that helps you to put your attention on what you want to manifest in your life. Because our subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between reality and visualization, it helps you to create what you dream about if you have a clear focus on what you desire.

I have created many Vision Boards over the years and I kept looking at my board daily, visualizing how it feels having the things on my board in reality, and they appeared in my life one after the other, not right away, but eventually.

A Vision Board helps us to become very clear about what we want, makes our goals visible and keeps them in front of our eyes, reminds us of what we want, allows us to choose our goals, reminds us of what we are working for, keeps us in a positive mood, and allows us to create a purpose in life. It puts a perspective with tangible goals in front of us.

While creating your Vision Board, make sure you do not use vague expressions such as; happiness, peace, health. Try to be as specific as you can. For example if there is a workplace you want to work at, put the picture of that building and its logo, and write down underneath; “A perfect job at (company name)” or if you want to go back to your weight when you were 20 years ago, then put your picture from that time where you look amazing and write; “A perfectly healthy and fit body”, or if you want to get a fancy car, put the picture of the exact brand and model and say; “A (make and model) car”.

Do not clutter your Vision Board with too many objectives, limit it to five to six at most at one time. After one of your goals on your Vision Board materialize, remove that one out and add another interesting goal – such as traveling to the Turks and Caicos Islands, or getting an iRobot vacuum (if you have a dog who sheds the way our dog sheds, this might be a good one for you too).

The important questions you need to answer honestly are; What are your personal and professional goals for 2019? What do you want to accomplish this year at work and at home? Think about them and little by little, put together your Vision Board for this year. As whatever you focus on grows, you will see that most if not all your goals will flourish well before the end of the year. Believe me, they will… So, please, give it a chance.
