Discovering Reiki

I have been exploring Reiki lately, according to our good old Wikipedia, the definition of which is a; “form of alternative medicine called energy healing. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which “universal energy” is said to be transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient in order to encourage emotional or physical healing.”

It is a Japanese technique used to heal physical and mental trauma and to support mental clarity and spiritual well-being. In Japanese, the word “rei” refers to a higher intelligence that permeates all living and nonliving entities of the universe. The word “ki” refers to the nonphysical energy that flows through everything that is alive, including plants, animals, and human beings—because of this, ki is also often called “life force energy” and is known as qi or chi. The combination of these two words is what defines Reiki as “spiritually guided life-force energy” where the practitioner channels life force energy through his or her hands unto another.

Negative thoughts are not just in the brain, but also collect in various locations throughout the body and in the aura. The places where negative thoughts and feelings collect is where ki is restricted in its flow. The physical organs that exist at these locations are restricted in their functioning. If the negative thoughts and feelings are not eliminated quickly, illness results.

And as Reiki flows through a sick or unhealthy area, it breaks up and washes away any negative thoughts or feelings lodged in the unconscious mind/body allowing a normal healthy flow of ki. As this happens, the unhealthy physical organs and tissues become properly nourished with ki and begin functioning in a balanced healthy way, replacing illness with health.

With the rise of alternative healing methods, this technique is becoming more and more popular and has been playing an important role as an accepted and valued healing practice.

It is quite difficult to fathom that the energy coming from one person could heal another by just touching the problematic area of their body, but if the practitioner has a great connection to the universe through completely cleansed chakras, then they become just a conduit that passes along the healing energy to the recipient.

In my opinion, this is an extremely interesting area of expertise worth exploring, especially if one has a chronic illness that is affecting the quality of life. And the best part of it is that you do not need to take any medication and pollute your body.

Reiki practitioners are all over the world, and obviously, there is an abundance of information on the Internet in form of articles, videos, and testaments from people who worked with practitioners and benefited from it. This is something you most probably have heard about anyway, and I am merely bringing this up in an effort to remind you that there is much more than conventional medicine out there, as long as you want to find out.
